In Matthew's Gospel the voice of the Father declares "this is" to the crowd. In Mark and Luke's Gospel the voice of the Father declares to Jesus "You are" affirming the incarnation and our call to repent of sin, do penance, and become a disciple. In John's Gospel we have the testimony of the Baptist's account of events. The scripture leaves no room for doubt as to who this Jesus is and why we must follow His ways and live His teachings if we want eternal life with the Blessed Trinity in heaven.
