Our Fidelity Statement
A Catholic Litmus Test
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
-John 8:32
We are proclaiming a Fidelity Statement for our visitors piece of mind.
Recently there was an inquiry about our beliefs on some key Catholic issues.
We felt these issues were a great litmus test on how orthodox a site is.
Yes, we've been there too, hesitantly reading through a site looking for clues as to whether the site was is in line with the teachings of the Magisterium.
Before trusting a site as authentically Catholic these questions usually come to mind...
-
How are the prayers worded?
-
Are the Luminous Mysteries included?
-
Is God referred to with the pronoun He?
-
Is there a fidelity statement to the Holy Father and the Magisterium?
Seems silly but there are a lot of different ideas out there disguised as Catholic.
You don't need to try reading between the lines on our site. Not only are we up-to-date on current issues, we are 100% Catholic and in love with the truth.
So we decided to spelling it out for you right here by clearly stating our opinions on the following...
A. The authority of Pope Benedict XVI:
There is no higher authority on earth than the Pope. Pope Benedict XVI is the successor of St. Peter and the Vicar of Christ.
B. The use of contraception:
Do not use, never have, never will and consider it extremely evil. Artificial contraceptives are intrinsically evil. Want to know our opinion? Read Humani Vitae.
C. The changes in the Mass since Vatican II:
As stated in A; there is no higher authority on earth than the Pope. "And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven". One of the four marks of the True Church is that it is one. There is one Church, one Sacrifice and one Victim. The New Order of the Mass of Paul VI is the same sacrifice as the Mass of Bl. John XXIII, the Extraordinary Form of the Liturgy.
D. The idea of women becoming priests:
We dont ever see this happening nor do we want to see it happen. Pope Paul VI, Pope Bl. John Paul II and our current Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI have opposed women ordinations. In his apostolic letter Ordinacio Sacerdotalis, Bl. John Paul II definitively proclaimed that priestly ordination is reserved for men alone.
E. Do you have additional comments?
We are in love with the Catholic faith and the Most Holy Rosary. We pray the whole world embraces the one true Faith and hopefully through the Rosary some will be lead there.
We are proud of our Faith. It is the Faith of the Apostles. If you believe in these truths as well we would greatly appreciate it if you would
