I saw on the internet a website where they tell that Catholics are being decieved as they don't know that they are worshipping satan.

Please claify for me. Thank you.

Is the Rosary evil?

I am just an ordinary member of the Catholic Church with no experience of apologetics, so I have no doubt there are very many people out there who could give you a far better reply, but here goes anyway...

From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin Mary has been honoured with the title of 'Mother of God,' to whose protection people turn in all their needs and fears.

Mary however, is blessed. ("All generations will call me blessed" [Luke 1:48b RSV]).

Because of Her blessedness, and her special place as Mother of Jesus, she is above all creatures, which is one reason why we venerate her and pray to her and ask intercession.

This very special devotion differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Catholics venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary, we do not worship her, a distinction that is lost on members of churches other than the Catholic Church. We worship God and Him alone. To Worship means to accept the Worshipped is God. To venerate means that the venerated is held in high regard, and is looked on with the utmost respect, but is not worshipped.

We acknowledge that there is but ONE God, therefore we do not believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary is God; nor do we believe that She is equal to God. This is why the Rosary is not evil.

I would ask the moderator of this site to please consider removing the links to the Catholic hate-sites above. That is all those sites are -- hate sites filled with a bunch of ignorant rantings.
