Our Lady Speaks
When all was quiet and the world asleep In the early morning from my bed I leaped
God called me forth a new day to ponder And my soul responded sure it is no wonder
I stretched my limbs and washed my face Then with eagerness settled down to meditate
And closing my eyes as I always do I pleaded Holy Spirit please see me through
Please help me pray for I know I should But alone I'm helpless there's nothing I can do
Quite soon I felt so calm, so warm Though outside it was a cold and dark December morn'
From within I heard her greet me then She whispered so softly "my child, my friend
Behold my Son and Him crucified Remember dear it's for you He died
And apart from dying He himself still gives As a piece of bread so that you might live
But my little one I remember oh so long ago When none the Saviour Child did know
Till the Father sent and He chose me The mother of His Son to be
Such a loving God I could not ignore But yielded self like soil to sower
Do likewise my friend, let God's will be done In you my child through Christ His Son
Seek not for Jesus in far off places Thy next of kin, thy neighbour He's in their faces
He knows all the pain, the grief that they now feel Can you love God and they not heed?
‘Tis true, He atoned in full so long ago But all have not yet come to know
The one who came to set them free By dying there upon a tree
I implore you my child please be their friend Upon our prayers they now depend
Do pray with love their souls caressing And gain for them thy Fathers blessing
Then, one day with lamps a burning bright They too will win eternal life
Yes you my child can play your role To save with me for God their souls
If for the while there's no reply Don't cast thee down nor wonder why
What God refused your invocation He will grant to their salvation
So now my child please don't be sad Pray always for the good and the bad
My little one just do your best Then trust in God He'll do the rest
Somewhere a sinner may repent Because thy time in prayer was spent
Now, be brave, take up thy cross I say to you And as my Son thy likewise do
If like Him at times you lose your feet The load's too heavy, the hill's too steep
You're tired, alone and sore, you feel so blue Fear not, I'll be there my child to see you through
Yes, upon my word you may depend As with Jesus I'm with you till the journeys end
And when you bow your head and die I'll take you with me beyond the sky
You'll stand before thy Fathers throne With sweet voices singing welcome home
And this time when you kneel thee down With God's own hands you will be crowned
Now my little one you can be glad These precious gifts are yours to have
For to you my child, my friend I'll give, and give, and give again
And from my Immaculate Heart I say to you I love you; love you, through and through".
