Sister Needs More And More Prayers

Please help me lift my sister up to God in prayer with The Holy Rosary that she is totally healed from her burn injuries that she incurred on Easter Sunday. She was getting ready to go to church, and she had a candle burning on a small table, and her dress caught on fire and as a result of this she has been at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque NM with 3rd degree burns all over her body except for the grace of God, not her face.

She has up to now had 5 skin graft surgeries and will be going through the last one we hope next week. My prayer is that God heals her in Mind, Body, Soul, Spirit and Skin. Beautiful skin like she used to have. I don't know if that is the right way to pray, but I like to think it is, and may His holy will be done.

Oh, that is such a sad thing to have happen. We will pray for her healing and there is nothing wrong with asking that her skin be beautiful once again.

A favorite story is that of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha. Blessed Kateri was not an attractive person. Her face had been badly disfigured from small pox. But her soul was so pure and good that it was easy for those who knew her to overlook this flaw. When she died, a miracle that occurred instantly is that the young Indian's face became smooth and beautiful and there was no trace of the disfiguring scars.

This story gives goosebumps. It reminds one of the beauty of a holy soul. Beauty is a reflection of God and when Jesus comes again, those whose names are written in the book of Life, those who have kept His commandments, with be risen with glorified bodies. Blessed Kateri's miracle is a glimpse of what a glorified body will look like.

Hopefully this story will comfort you a little about your sister's condition. May she constantly unite her horrible sufferings to those of Our Dear Lord.
