Stomach ailment helped by the Rosary

by Regina M. Elliott
(Swannanoa,NC, U.S.)

I'm a middle aged woman and was a whole blood donor until one day after getting a call from someone asking me if I could also start donating blood platelets, I went in and did.

The first few times after donating blood platelets I only felt mild nausea for about two days. But this past June after donating platelets I started to feel a lot of nausea and weakness. I have acid reflux and was wondering if my stomach was too sensitive.

After about the third day of nausea and lack of appetite I went to my family doctor and he was baffled by it and prescribed anti-nausea medication to me.

This went on for two months and he had to prescribe more anti-nausea medication for me and referred me to a gastroenterologist.

I'm Catholic and had prayed the Rosary a lot for others, such as praying for unborn babies in front of the local abortion clinic.

I had to postpone the gastroenterologist appointment. This past Labor Day the nausea was particularly strong. My husband had just left for a business trip and I was alone. I sat down on my couch and had the t.v. and music turned off.

I prayed to the Lord and Padre Pio for a lessening of the nausea and for me to have a normal appetite. I placed my beloved grandmother's Rosary on top of my bare stomach and kept praying.

Within a few minutes I felt warmth underneath the Rosary go into my stomach. I kept praying and started to feel the nausea go away and my appetite return. The nausea and appetite loss has not returned! Praise the Lord our Savior and Padre Pio for their heavenly intervention, they heard my plea.

I also thank the Blessed Mother for also hearing my prayers to her. I cannot donate blood anymore but I know a kind soul somewhere was gently tapped on the shoulder by the Lord and donated blood for the first time.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
