by Ron

When I say a novena do I also say the daily rosary as well? Are there special rosaries to be said in certain days? Where do I find the answers to these questions?

Fatima, Rosariuim Virginis Mariae, and the Vatican's Website
by: The Rosary Team

The Blessed Virgin Mary requested at Fatima that we pray the Rosary every day. I think we all should try our best to fulfill her request. Pray the Rosary everyday.

If you are praying a novena, perhaps you could pray it at a different time of the day.
There are no special Rosaries to be said each day, but there are certain mysteries that the Church offers as a suggestion to pray on particular days. That suggestion goes as follows...

Sunday - Glorious
Monday - Joyful
Tuesday - Sorrowful
Wednesday - Glorious
Thursday - Luminous
Friday - Sorrowful
Saturday - Joyful

The Sunday's recommended mysteries change depending on the Church year. The above list is for Ordinary Time, during Christmas the Joyful are meditated upon on Sunday and likewise during Lent the Sorrowful.

For definitive answers, you can always search the Vatican's website...
www.vatican.va

Ven. Pope John Paul II's, soon to be Blessed by the way, encyclical ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE can be found here...

In it you will find the introduction of the Luminous Mysteries and the suggested days for praying each respective mystery.

Because Fatima is considered a private revelation even though worthy for public veneration, finding definitive information on the Fatima message is a little more difficult.

It is however documented time and again that Our Lady requested that the Rosary be prayed every day.

The message of Fatima was given given great credibility by the great miracle of the sun which was witnessed by 70,000 people and documented in secular newspapers at the time.

Fatima's message is not one to be ignored.

All people should read about Mary's message and heed her warnings. As always be careful where you find your information.

Start by searching "Fatima" at the Vatican's website. A wonderful book we would recommend is...

Our Lady of Fatima by William Thomas Walsh.

One recent review of this book is that is was well written without unnecessary commentary.

Which is the place to start with anything - just the facts.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
